Even a novice artist or a child can draw space. Space for imagination, the ability to neglect perspective and proportions: such factors will help you not to think about your own skills in painting, but to completely dissolve in creativity.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - paints;
- - brushes;
- - wax.
Instructions
Step 1
Think over the plot of your drawing. It can be your fantasies about space, images based on real photographs, or even fantastic battles with aliens. The composition of the work will be built depending on the plot. Plan ahead for the key objects in your drawing, especially if you want to make a real story with it. Mark the objects with thin pencil strokes, which you will paint over later.
Step 2
Start with the background. Let go of the stereotype that outer space must be black. For inspiration, you can browse the available photographs of real space: you will see that the color palette is quite rich there. Cover the sheet completely with bold strokes, choosing rich or pastel shades as you like. The background will turn out to be the most colorful if you use gouache, acrylic or oil paints. After completion, let it dry (when working with oil, you should not wait until it dries).
Step 3
Draw the main and secondary objects. At this stage, be guided by the main principle: the colors of the depicted objects must be lighter than the background. Use the contrast of rich colors and blurry shapes.
Step 4
Take several shades of white paint (from lithopone to white lead) and create highlights with them. Be sure to think about what exactly is the light source in your drawing.
Step 5
Try various effects to help make your creation truly cosmic. You can use fluorescent or light-accumulative paints: paint several objects with them, and your work will look vibrant and embossed.
Step 6
Alternatively, you can achieve an interesting effect with wax. Rub it on a small area of paper for future drawing. After the paints have been applied and dried, sweep across the surface with a sharp object to create a three-dimensional image. In this way, you can make, for example, a relief on celestial bodies.
