It turns out that this belief is more than one hundred years old. It is believed that the umbrella was invented in Egypt or China (it is not known exactly). This accessory came to Europe only in the XIV century. Until 1750, umbrellas were only used to protect from the sun's rays. Resourceful Europeans began to hide under umbrellas from the rain much later. By the way, in the East, the umbrella was a symbol of power and indicated the high position of its owner in society. During the solemn ceremonies, the rulers of the Celestial Empire walked under 13 umbrellas embroidered with gold. They symbolized the Sun and the twelve zodiacal constellations located around it.
In Europe, for some reason, they began to give this subject a negative meaning.
It is impossible to open an umbrella indoors, otherwise you can call upon yourself trouble. In addition to the fact that such actions can anger the Sun God, it is believed that by performing such manipulations, you can fall into disfavor with the spirits that protect the house. In other words, an open umbrella in a room gets on the Domovoi's nerves.

You cannot leave an umbrella on the bed. This reckless act can rob you of the flow of money.
Dropping an umbrella is in trouble. If you accidentally drop your umbrella, ask someone else to pick it up. When the owner himself lifts the umbrella, then troubles await him, this does not affect strangers. If, nevertheless, you were forced to pick up the fallen umbrella yourself, then upon returning home, be sure to look in the mirror to remove negative energy.
The umbrella cannot be gifted. It is believed that such a gift portends adversity and problems. If you still want to give an umbrella, then ask for a symbolic payment for it. It will no longer be a gift, but a purchase. Likewise, you can cheat fate when you decide to give someone other "unwanted" gifts, such as watches, knives or towels.
