Summer residents and owners of private houses are increasingly using country-style elements when decorating their gardens and gardens: a cart wheel, a decorative mill, jugs on a wattle fence, etc. In appearance, a wattle or tyn is a fairly simple structure, but without knowing some of the subtleties, weaving a fence from branches may not work.
It is necessary
- - wooden stakes;
- - branches of the vine;
- - drying oil.
Instructions
Step 1
In order to weave a tyn or a wicker fence from branches, prepare materials. Concrete or iron pipes for the main pillars are of course durable, but they don't fit into the country style. Stakes made of hard wood with a diameter of 50-70 cm are best suited for this. Sharpen their lower ends, saturate the length of the depression in the ground with linseed oil to prevent rotting.
Step 2
Prepare enough vines in the spring. Their thickness depends on the way in which you are going to weave the hedge. If the tyn is woven horizontally, then choose thicker growth - about 3-5 cm. If the weaving is vertical, the main number of harvested rods will be 1-2 cm, and several horizontal guides are larger. When choosing a material, pay attention to the core of the branches: the darker its color, the more brittle the branches of this bush will be.
Step 3
Also choose branches with a length of 50 cm or more - for vertical weaving, and even longer branches for horizontal arrangement. If in the future you are going to give your wicker fence the color of a noble wood, strip the bark from the blanks in strips. Until it dries up, it can be used as a bast to tie horizontal guides to the posts - it will turn out very stylish.
Step 4
Pull on two poles driven into the ground near the top ends and near the ground along a string. These will be guides for a straight and equal height wattle fence, if there are no bends around any trees, flower beds, etc. Drive the sharpened and linseed-treated pillars into the ground about 50 cm, at a distance of about 60-80 cm from each other.
Step 5
Depending on the height of the wattle fence, tie horizontal guides to them with a bast (alternating sides). Pass vertical bars between them with a density that justifies your goals. By the way, if you arrange the vertical rods with an irregular tilt in different directions, it can turn out to be quite original. But neatly woven tyn is more durable and looks very decent! When the tyn woven from the branches is ready, you can paint it with a stain. If you plant it with a loach or wild grapes, then over time, the wattle will acquire even greater strength and stylish appearance.
