Many young mothers decorate the baby's crib with a canopy. Some children are more comfortable and calmer under it than on an open bed. The canopy over the bed also traps dust and protects the baby from flies and mosquitoes. You can sew a canopy with your own hands - this work will give you pleasure.

Instructions
Step 1
Select the basic material for sewing the canopy. Hang a canopy of sheer fabric such as tulle or organza over the crib. A beautifully designed, textured fabric will save time and materials for the decorative design of a children's canopy.
Step 2
Calculate the required size of the base material. This will depend on how you attach the canopy over the crib.
• The canopy is attached at the head of the bed, playing only the role of "roof" and for beauty. For such a canopy, a piece of fabric with a length of 2.5 meters and a width of 1.5 meters is usually sufficient.
• The canopy tripod stands in the middle of the bed and the canopy covers it completely. The amount of material required in this case will depend on the length and height of the crib.
• Can be installed on the wall (above the baby's bed) a curtain for curtains, the length of which is equal to the length of the bed. The curtain will retreat from the wall by 10-15 centimeters. Select the size of the curtain attached to it, taking into account the length of the bed and the location of the curtain.
Step 3
Make a pattern for two parts of the baby canopy with a rounded top. You can sew a canopy in the following sequence:
• Connect the back and top.
• Tuck the top section twice and sew to form a drawstring for attaching the canopy to the tripod.
• Leave a beautiful "crown" about 5-10 centimeters high above the drawstring for beauty.
• Finish the seams of the canopy and tackle the decorative elements.
Step 4
Trim the edges of the canopy with lace. You can make a frill with the same fabric you used to sew the bumpers and baby bedding. This can be done if you made everything yourself. If you chose a curtain as a canopy over a children's bed, then process the seams and also sew beautiful frills around the perimeter. This curtain can be draped to your liking.
