For holidays, carnivals, friendly parties and other events that require imagination and originality from the participants, not only children, but also adults are happy to try on new roles, put on fancy dress and depict a variety of heroes and characters. Often, a wig may be required to complete a look - but that doesn't mean you have to buy a wig from a store. If you have experience in crocheting, it will not be difficult for you to knit a carnival wig for yourself or your child for any festive occasion.
Instructions
Step 1
Pick up a thick enough wool or acrylic yarn and find the right crochet hook for the thickness. Tie a simple hat in a spiral, knitting stitches with one crochet and not making the loops too tight. After the cap is ready, take the yarn and cut it into strips of a suitable length for the future wig.
Step 2
Take three or four threads at once, fold them in half and thread the hats into a loop, making a kind of fringe. Then take another bundle of threads, folded in half, and thread it next to the previous one.
Step 3
Continue braiding the hat with a fringe of threads, starting from the crown of the head and ending with the bottom hem. By varying the length of the strands, you can vary the thickness and volume of the wig. The tighter the bundles of threads are to each other, the more uniform the cover of your wig will be, and the less noticeable the base from the cap will be.
Step 4
Try on a wig in the process of making it - after trying on, adjust the shape and length of the "hair", cut the bangs and add missing strands where the base of the wig is too noticeable. Avoid "bald" areas on the wig - fill it with strands completely.
Step 5
To make the wig even more natural, you can weave artificial hair (kanekalon) into the cap instead of yarn, choosing thin strands from the bundle.
Step 6
Shake the finished wig, give it a shape and style it - pigtails, ponytails, or leave your hair loose.
