It is customary to give hearts on Valentine's Day. Valentine postcards, pendants, or even more serious gifts that are pleasant to receive in appropriate packaging. You can make a heart-shaped box with your own hands. Such packaging is appropriate not only on Valentine's Day, but also for a wedding and its anniversary.
It is necessary
- - cardboard:
- - self-adhesive paper in two colors;
- - writing paper;
- - a computer with a printer;
- - scissors;
- - "Moment" glue.
Instructions
Step 1
Start making a heart box with a pattern. Do it on paper first. Find a picture that suits you, resize it, print it and cut it out. If you know how to draw a little, you can do without a computer. Take a piece of paper and fold it in half. Draw the half of the heart so that the center line is at the fold. Then the heart will be symmetrical. You will also need a blank for the lid. Circle the first heart, adding 2-3 mm along all lines.
Step 2
Make patterns for the side parts. Measure the bottom of the heart around the perimeter. The easiest way to do this is with a thread, laying it along the edge. Draw a strip equal in length to the resulting measurement, plus a 1 cm allowance for gluing. The width should be 2 times the height of the box. Make a pattern for the side of the lid using the same principle.
Step 3
Transfer the parts to cardboard. Along the perimeter of the bottom and lid, leave an allowance for gluing of 0.5 cm. Cut out the hearts from the self-adhesive film exactly to the size of the part, leaving nothing for gluing. Make strips for the outer part of the box with allowances on two long sides. For the inside, cut a strip with an allowance on one side.
Step 4
Cut the bottom and lid allowances in several places. Fold them to the inside of the future box. Trim the corners if necessary. Fold the strip for the side of the box in half lengthwise. Smear the heart allowances on both sides with glue, put them between the free long edges of the sidewall, press firmly and set to dry. Note that the box will look neater if you start gluing the sidewall from the concave part of the heart. Secure the short sections of the strip with glue or paper clips. Make the lid the same way.
Step 5
Start pasting the box from the outside of the sidewall. Fold over the seam allowances on the self-adhesive paper. Cut the one that will stick to the bottom in several places. Peel off the protective layer and stick the strip. On the inner strip, the allowance will also stick to the bottom. Fold it to the outside of the strip and also cut in several places. Glue the strip, making sure that the second long edge is parallel to the edge of the sidewall. Glue the inside of the bottom and then the outside. Cover the lid in the same way.
