The hot summer has arrived, the time for fun beach parties in all possible and impossible styles. Latin, Cuban, Hawaiian, Spanish and other parties involve, if not a certain dress code, then the presence of a carnival mask for sure. However, it is not always possible to find what you need in specialized stores. Well, there is nothing easier than making it yourself.
It is necessary
plasticine, old newspapers, white paper, glue, brushes, stationery knife, hole punch, sandpaper, acrylic paints, beads, small beads, feathers, ribbon or braid
Instructions
Step 1
Sculpt a model of the future carnival mask from plasticine, depending on the image you choose.
Step 2
Tear or cut old newspapers into small pieces, they will form the basis of the carnival mask.
Step 3
Apply the first layer of cut newspaper pieces to the plasticine base, grease them with glue and proceed to the next layer. You should have about 10-15 layers of paper. Make the last one not from a newspaper, but from pieces of white paper.
Step 4
Let the paste dry well and remove it from the plasticine base.
Step 5
Carefully cut the dried blank of the carnival mask along the contour with a clerical knife, cut the holes for the eyes and mouth.
Step 6
Gently sand the mask with sandpaper to avoid burrs on its surface.
Step 7
Apply the first coat of white acrylic paint, let it dry. Repeat on the wrong side. Proceed with the further coloring of the carnival mask, decorate it as desired with beads, beads, feathers, carefully gluing them to the surface. Get creative.
Step 8
Punch a hole punch from both sides along the hole for attaching the strings to them.
Step 9
Pass equal pieces of tape or braid through the holes made by the hole punch. Fix the ends of the ties with glue.
