A couple of decades ago, the so-called "Sophist Twist" came into vogue. With this simple device, you can make a lot of everyday and festive hairstyles for semi-long and long hair. If you could not find the "Sophist Twist" on sale, or if you wanted to have an exclusive item, you can easily and simply make it yourself. This is especially true when the style and appearance of the hairstyle must be combined with the clothes - you can make the “Sophist Twist” from the same fabric or fabric of the same color and texture as the dress.
It is necessary
- - paper for making patterns "Sophist twist", pencil, ruler, crayon;
- - fabric of the desired color and texture measuring 50 x 30 cm;
- - metal wire, thick enough to hold the hair, length - 1 meter;
- - a sewing machine or a needle and thread of a suitable color, scissors.
Instructions
Step 1
Draw a Sophist Twist pattern on a piece of paper as shown. First, draw a 40x8 cm rectangle, round the corners. Draw cross and longitudinal lines to define the center of the piece. Mark the longitudinal line of the slot - four lines. Cut out the pattern along the dotted line; This is the size of the product with an allowance for seams, and the inner contour of the pattern is the line of the stitch and corresponds to the actual size of the future "Sophist Twist". The size of the pattern can be arbitrarily changed depending on your preferences and hair density. Carefully make a notch line in the middle of the pattern. If you do not want to draw a pattern yourself, you can simply download and print it on a printer.
Step 2
Fold the fabric in half lengthwise, right side in, lay on the table and straighten. Place the pattern on the fabric and pin it down. Trace the outline of the pattern with chalk, do not forget to mark the line of the slot. The fabric can now be cut.
Step 3
Remove the pattern, leaving the pins behind so that both layers of fabric are chipped off. With a 1 cm allowance, sew in a circle the Sophist Twist outline on a sewing machine, or sew with a tight seam using a needle and thread. Remove the pins. Using small scissors, carefully make a cut in the middle - along the line of the cut. Turn the product right out through the cut.
Step 4
Take the wire and bend it into the shape of the resulting Sophist Twist. Wrap the excess ends around each other to form a closed loop. Insert the wire ring inside through the slot, gently straighten it.
Step 5
Now all that remains is to close up and secure the slot. The simplest thing is to sew straight along the right side with a tight stitch using the buttonhole principle. But you can show your imagination and, for example, sheathe the hole with an oblique inlay, braid or crochet. The Sophist Twist hair attachment is ready.
