Sew a prom dress with your own hands
The model was chosen, now it is necessary to take measurements, calculate the required amount of fabric, buy the necessary accessories - ribbons, lace, zipper, threads, adhesive interlining flizilin. If the fabrics are transparent, a backing material is required.
Before proceeding with cutting the fabric, it should be decated. Natural fabrics (satin, silk) shrink, so they must be rinsed in water and dried. It is enough to iron the artificial material through a damp thin cloth.
The finished magazine pattern must be transferred to paper using a copy wheel. Now adjust the pattern to fit your measurements, taking into account the features of the figure.
The details of the pattern are laid out on the fabric, the cutting is done along the shared thread. Everything is once again rechecked, reconciled. Only after you have measured everything seven times, you can cut out the details of the dress, not forgetting to leave allowances for the seams (1-1, 5 cm).
The details are swept away, the first fitting is done, on which the product is fitted. Excess pins are pinned, narrow places are embroidered. The main seams are stitched on the sewing machine, before proceeding with the detailed processing, a second fitting is made. Eliminate flaws, adjust the length.
At the end, the seams are processed on an overlock, the armholes, the neck is grinded, the bottom of the dress is hemmed. The product is ironed, ornaments are sewn onto it: flowers, beads, bows. The unique dress is ready.
