It is necessary

a sheet of paper, a simple pencil, an eraser, watercolors, brushes of different thicknesses

Instructions

Step 1

First, choose whether you will draw a landscape from nature (if possible), from a photograph or from memory. If you are drawing from a photograph, then clip the photograph next to the drawing and check the original when doing the work. Fasten the sheet of paper itself on an easel or on a tablet. It is best to use special paper for watercolors. Its surface is slightly rough.

Step 2

Sketch the landscape with a simple pencil. Mark the horizon line, draw the outline of the clouds with light strokes. Draw a small boat with sails on the sea. With an eraser, erase unnecessary lines, stains left over from the pencil, otherwise all this dirt will show through the paint.

Step 3

Wet an area of the sky with water, excluding the clouds and sails of the ship. Start painting raw using a thick paintbrush, squirrel, or columns. For paints, use ocher, blue and black. Apply ocher diluted with water in broad strokes to the light areas of the sky, then fill the remaining areas with blue. Use a brush to mix paints, and remove accumulations of water with a dry brush. On the white spots of the clouds, you can slightly bring the blue color. Then darken the bottom of the sky slightly, closer to the horizon.

Step 4

Dilute the ocher with water and cover the entire sea area, excluding the glare areas on the water from the sail. Then mix black and blue paint so that there is more blue (about one in three). Apply the resulting color over the not dried ocher, but do not completely cover this area. Let the paint mix on its own. Then paint the surface of the water again with ocher. Next, paint on the color of the sailboat. Mark the hull of the ship with dark strokes, emphasize the white sails, dark blue make the shadow.

Step 5

Use a brush with blue paint and paint the texture of the water on the areas closest to the viewer. To do this, use a thin brush. You can mark seagulls in the sky with two strokes, which will enliven the drawing enough. Experiment with seascapes, do not spare paper and paints. Only with repeated training can good things come out.
