The lava lamp is a highly artistic solution to the design of an apartment. A mysterious mixture of bright liquids and, if desired, solid ornaments moves in a tall glass vessel. You can add sparkles to your lava lamp for a particularly sophisticated look. When the lamp is turned on, its inner composition heats up and a dancing movement of the filler takes place in the style of surrealism. A truly breathtaking sight.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare a glass cylindrical vessel. The lid should fit snugly in it. Take the base material. Depending on your design idea, it can be wood, metal or plastic. Stock up on a light bulb socket, a 25 watt light bulb, castor oil, a fat-soluble, water-insoluble and alcohol-insoluble dye.
Step 2
Make a freeform base to suit your artistic taste. Attach a glass vessel to the base and hide the light bulb under it. Drill some holes in the sidewalls for your cooling system.
Step 3
Color the liquid with a greasy base. Now pour it into your glass jar after filling it with a mixture of water and alcohol. Leave some space at the top of the vessel, it should fill when the colored liquid expands from heating.
Step 4
In the event that you notice that the fatty liquid has begun to float, change the density of the water base. To do this, add more alcohol. Check if the lamp is working. Adjust the density of the mixture to the desired density, remembering that adding alcohol decreases it, and adding water increases it. Only after you are happy with the lamp work, place the cover firmly on the glue.
Step 5
Collect all the pieces, insert the glass jar into the base and turn on the lava lamp. There is a slightly different composition of the internal mixture. Fill half of the glass jar with water. Now add liquid paraffin there. Throw multi-colored small objects. Add vegetable oil and wait for it to separate from the water. The final step is to add salt or sugar. Any student crystals will do, though. Now place the jar over the turned on light bulb and watch the colorful spectacle. If you liked it, then feel free to connect and strengthen the structure.
