The ancient art of origami still fascinates children and adults with its simplicity and elegance, as well as the fact that a variety of shapes can be folded from a simple square of paper with due skill - from elementary to the most complex. In this article, you will learn how to fold a Japanese flying crane out of paper without glue and scissors. You will need one flat square of paper of any color.
Instructions
Step 1
Take a square and fold it in half, ironing the fold. Expand the resulting rectangle horizontally and fold it in half to make a small square, and unfold it. Bend the right side with a corner to the center line outlined by the folding of the rectangle.
Step 2
Then turn the shape over and the second side, which will again be on the right, also bend to the center line with a corner. Thus, on each side there will be one bent corner - left and right.
Step 3
Take the resulting shape and use your fingers to spread the two layers of paper at its base. Expand and flatten the resulting pocket to form a working square shape. Smooth out the folds. Place the square so that the drop-down corner is at the bottom.
Step 4
Start folding the front of the square. Bend the right side to the center line. Repeat the same for the left side. Then bend the top corner of the figure down along the line formed by the bent sides.
Step 5
The corner should be aligned with the center line. After that, return the figure to its original position - unbend the corner and sides. Turn the pocket outward along the outlined lines, forming the basic shape "Fish" - an elongated rhombus.
Step 6
Turn the figurine over and repeat the same steps on the back side. Bend the sides to the center, then bend down the corner, unbend all the sides and turn them out, making the same elongated diamond as on the back of the figure.
Step 7
Bend the lower right side of the rhombus to the right, aligning its straight edge with the central horizontal line of the shape. Then unfold the side and turn it inside out, bending it horizontally so that it forms a right angle with the horizontal line. Do the same with the lower left side.
Step 8
Complete the left inverted corner - bend the small corner at the end, forming the stork's head. Peel back the two triangles at the top corner to make the wings. Pull the head and tail of the figurine - the wings will begin to move.
