If you want to diversify your music with drums, but you have no experience with this instrument, you should not give up the idea. There are many ways to record drums, and either way you can find the one that's right for you. All you have to do is choose one of them.

Step 1
Record drums live. This is the classic way. You will need a drum kit itself, a set of microphones and a drummer that will play the desired part. This method is the most expensive, but the music will turn out to be alive and natural. True, the sound quality will still depend on the quality of the microphones that you will use for recording, so use good equipment. Moreover, do not try to record the entire setup into one microphone.
Step 2
Use electronic drums to record. This method differs little from the previous one. The only difference is that you don't need microphones. On the other hand, for high-quality recording, purchase an external sound card through which the recording will take place. Another plus of this unit is that it is programmable. You will be able to tune the drums to suit you and your needs. This greatly simplifies the selection of equipment.
Step 3
Buy a dedicated MIDI controller with the ability to assign sounds to different keys or with a built-in drum base. The essence of the device is that you yourself, without any skills and knowledge, can create simple tracks from drums, and any other instruments. To record, you just need to connect the device to your computer and use any sound editor for further refinement.
Step 4
Put virtual drums on your computer. This is the cheapest way of all. All you need to do is install a program that simulates drums on your computer and use your mouse to create parts. Practice a little before getting to work, the difficulty lies in the fact that you either have only one "stick", or the second is replaced by keys on the keyboard, which is not always convenient.
