Since 1955, all world records have been recorded in the Guinness Book, named after the brewing company, whose director proposed the idea of creating a common collection for the "best". Considering that the book has become one of the best-selling books in the world more than once, it is not surprising that many would like to be on its pages. As practice shows, you can become an official hero, and it's completely free. However, no one will pay you for appearing in the Guinness book, the participants are supposed to be only world-famous.
Instructions
Step 1
Go to the website www.guinnessworldrecords.com and select Russian from the suggested languages on the top bar. Then register and apply by filling out the form in the section called "Set a record". There you will need to write what type of record you want to set: a completely new one or with a better result than the previous one, and in what area (sports, collecting, body beauty, etc.). In recent years, the record review committee accepts only those applications that were left on the official website
Step 2
In four to six weeks, you will receive a verdict by email. If the application is accepted, you will be assigned an identification number and issued instructions. They say what kind of factual evidence will be required to establish your specific record. If you do not want to wait so long for a response, you can use a paid expedited verification of the application. For £ 400 a reply will come within three days. You can also call an impartial judge from England for the record-setting procedure, but then you will have to pay for his services, flights and accommodation.
Step 3
When you have completed and secured your record, and it is documented, collect all the factual data and send it by post to Guinness World Records headquarters at: Guinness World Records Ltd, 3rd Floor, 184-192 Drummond Street, London. NW1 3HP. Be sure to indicate on the parcel and on each document fixing the record, your identification number received upon approval of the application (CLAIM ID). If you do not put it down, your record will not be considered.
Step 4
If your record is officially approved, you will receive an email from Guinness World Records headquarters with an official Guinness World Records certification. The certificate is issued free of charge, but copies of it can be ordered separately for a small amount. Please note that getting certified does not mean that you will appear in the next Guinness Book of Records. Since there are so many new records every year, only the most spectacular are selected for the book. The rest are posted on the official website.
