The first music lessons usually pique interest in the child. Most kids like everything new. Little musicians are curious about the instruments themselves. However, the first difficulties can discourage the desire to continue classes. Therefore, the task of parents is to make sure that there are as few difficulties as possible, and most importantly, the baby would learn easily and without stress.

Step 1
Teach your child to confidently distinguish between top and bottom. It is necessary that he be able to do this not only in space, but also on a sheet. Then it will be easier for him to learn the direction of movement of the scale and the ratio of sounds in pitch. Explain to the little musician that the birds fly high and sing in thin voices. Therefore, subtle sounds are also called high. Come up with a similar explanation for low sounds. If the child is confusing high and low, explain that low sounds can be made softly too. Ask your dad or grandfather to speak to your child in a loud, low voice.
Step 2
Explain to your child what a fraction is. At first, he needs to know that the whole object can be divided into halves and quarters. Use an apple, orange, or any other fruit for this. Tell us that the length of a sound can be divided in the same way. Press a piano key and ask your toddler to count to four. Then press the same key again. Have the child count again, and you play the note twice so that one sound lasts for "1-2" and the other for "3-4". In the same way, you can explain to a novice musician quarters and eighths.
Step 3
Introduce your charge to the size. Explain what the numbers that he sees at the beginning of the note line mean. The bottom number is the beats you want to divide the whole note into. Above it is written how many such shares you need to take. You can invite your child to exercise with an apple or orange. Show him what size 2/4 or 3/4 means. It is very good if by the time of the beginning of studying at the music school the kid already knows the numbers and can count a little.
Step 4
Make a ladder with cubes. Each next step must be 1 cube higher than the previous one. Any small toy, for example, a nesting doll, can walk on it. You can make stickers with images of notes on the top cubes. In order for a child to remember something better, it is necessary to activate all types of his memory. Offer to lead the toy up all the steps. Play a scale at the same time, starting with the "C" sound. Invite your child to take the matryoshka not along all the steps, but through one or two. Play the appropriate sounds at the same time. This way you can give him an idea of the intervals.
Step 5
Invite the little musician to imagine that the stave is the same ladder, and the notes correspond to the steps. Only these steps are located not on the cubes, but on the rulers and between them. You can draw a large staff on the wall, and on it - the steps in exactly the same position as they were during the game with cubes.
Step 6
You can also exercise while walking. Have your child sing a scale as you go up or down stairs. You can let him jump two or three steps - but on condition that he can then sing the appropriate interval.
