Step 1
In order to sew a sports bag, it is necessary to prepare a material, which is suitable for artificial and natural leather, beading, denim or any other dense fabric. To decorate the product, you will need zippers, double-sided rivets (hollow), strong threads (best of all nylon or silk). For the lining, it is better to purchase a lining fabric, and for the bottom, cardboard or other hard material.

Make a pattern that is necessary for making parts such as the sides and bottom of the bag, pockets and handles.
Step 3
You can sew a sports bag in the shape of a rectangle or square, so make a pattern for the side of the required size, and then cut out two parts along it, and make the bottom along them.
Step 4
The bottom of the bag looks like a strip, the length of which is equal to the sum of the length of the base and two heights. The bottom can be rectangular with straight or slightly tapered corners.
Step 5
When constructing a pattern, immediately lay in allowances for the seams (about 2 cm) or add them already in the process of applying the pattern to the fabric, which is preferable, since the dimensions will not be distorted.
Step 6
The pattern for the lining must be made either from the main parts of the bag (sides and bottom), or without the bottom, cutting out the sides at the fold with a single cloth. Transfer the patterns to the fabric, fixing the patterns on it with safety pins, circle the outline with a pencil or chalk.
Step 7
Sew the top and lining separately in several seams, and then join them together by stitching along the top edge of the bag. It is recommended to sew using a rectangular strip - a strap, or to make the top of the bag taking into account the fold of the main canvas, while the lining should be 2-3 cm shorter.
Step 8
Fold the edge of the top inward and press it, or sew with a seam 3 mm from the edge. Sew the parts from the inside, turn out, sew on the handles and fasteners.
