Elements of New Year's decor such as snowflakes are traditionally made from paper. But you can show imagination and make them from other material. For example, knitted snowflakes are easy to make and can become a New Year's table decoration, part of a decorative composition or Christmas tree decorations.

Step 1
Find the yarn for making your snowflake. You can use the type of thread traditionally used for crocheting - cotton "Iris". Now they are produced not only in white, but also in various other colors, which gives scope for the author's imagination. Also, if you like glitter, you can get Iris with lurex.
If you want to knit a fluffier snowflake whiter, use a thin woolen or blended yarn. A mohair product can also be interesting.
Step 2
Choose a crochet hook that fits the yarn. Also, the knitting density may depend on the hook. The larger it is, the more airy the product will turn out, the smaller, the denser.
Step 3
Find a suitable circuit. It can be either ready-made or invented by you yourself. As a basis, you can take the knitting pattern of an ordinary round napkin. First, knit several air loops, connect them in a circle. Then tie them with crochet stitches. The next row will be eight to ten chains of air loops, they should also connect with the second row, forming rings. Connect the tops of these rings as follows - tie the two upper loops with triple double crochet, connected by two air loops, then attach them to the next ring with one more air loop. Tie the resulting circle with another row of double crochets.
Step 4
Another, simpler version of a knitted snowflake can be the following: tie a chain of four to six air loops, connect them in a ring, tie it with single crochets, and create a further snowflake pattern to your liking from chains of loops.
Step 5
A two-tone snowflake can also be an interesting idea. For example, inside it can be blue, and outside it is tied with several rows of white yarn.
Step 6
Gently iron the finished snowflake with an iron through the fabric. If necessary, then starch beforehand.
