The process of weaving beaded bracelets requires painstaking preparatory work and special equipment that you can do yourself, and which will serve for the manufacture of an unlimited number of products.
It is necessary
- - old cutting board;
- - lavsan (or other synthetic) threads;
- - beads of different shades;
- - beads with large holes
- - a needle with a thin eye.
Instructions
Step 1
Come up with a design that you want to place on the bracelet. Draw an ornament on paper in a cage, each cell symbolizes one unit of beads, color the sketch. These can be Mexican patterns with triangles and squares, Greek labyrinths, or symbolic images of flowers.
Step 2
Select beads. Buy the shades that are used in the bracelet ornament. Give preference to beads with rounded edges, bug beads are not suitable for such weaving, since its sharp edges cut the warp threads while the product is being worn. Consider the beads, all the beads should be about the same size, otherwise you will get "distortions" in the weaving. Lay out several rows of beads on the table according to the pattern to understand if the shades match each other and if you like the thickness of the future bracelet.
Step 3
Prepare the machine on which weaving will be carried out. Drive nails into the two sides of the cutting board at a distance of 3-5 mm from each other. Attach the warp thread to the outermost nail and pull it through the entire length of the board, wrap around one nail and pull it in the opposite direction. Repeat this operation several times. Remember that if your bracelet is 7 beads, you need to create 8 working strands.
Step 4
Start weaving. Place the board in front of you with the nails on your right and left. Cut the long thread, attach it to the left of the lower warp thread, insert both ends into the needle. Put the beads on the needle according to the drawing of the first column, stretch the needle. Place the column on the warp threads so that each bead is between two threads. Insert the needle from the back of each warp thread and bring it to the starting position, secure the thread by making two turns around the first warp thread. Continue weaving, observing the color of the beads as shown.
Step 5
Finish braiding, secure the thread on the back of the bracelet. Cut off the warp threads, fasten in a common knot, decorate with a bead with a large hole, decorate with ties or a clasp.
