All religions, despite their differences, have many similarities, and one of these similarities lies in the paraphernalia of prayer. In every religion, believers use rosary for prayer, which differ in materials, type, number of beads and other features, and if you decide to make a simple rosary, please be patient and material.
It is necessary
- - wood;
- - stain;
- - varnish;
- - fishing line;
- - mini drill;
- - sandpaper;
- - a needle.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare for making your own rosary a soft wood that can be easily processed - for example, pine, as well as wood stain and varnish for wood, thin fishing line, a mini-drill with an engraving attachment, any ivory object, fine sandpaper and a needle.
Step 2
First, cut a stick of the desired length and thickness from a piece of wood using woodworking tools. The thickness of the stick depends on what kind of beads you want to end up with. Mark the stick into short bead segments of the same length and saw it along the marked lines to get a set of small wooden cubes - blanks for future rosary.
Step 3
Using a very fine drill bit, carefully drill a hole in each of the cubes, keeping the drill straight and level so that the cube does not split. File the cubes if necessary, smoothing out sharp corners and making them more rounded.
Step 4
Cover the drilled cubes with a stain of a pre-selected shade, and then dry the blanks and mark the beads with the symbols you want to see on them using a simple pencil. Then, with the help of an engraver, carefully engrave the symbols on the beads.
Step 5
Put the beads in sequence on the prepared fishing line, alternating them with small ivory beads. Also hang an ivory ornament on the fishing line, forming the pommel of the rosary.
Step 6
Tie the fishing line tightly, making sure that the beads sit loosely on it and you can move them a little to the side and then varnish the rosary.
