The technology for making a rosary from bread was invented by prisoners in places of detention for a very long time. Prayer beads are used by convicts not for counting prayers, but in order to show with this cult object their belonging to a certain group in the hierarchical structure of the prison society.

Bread made of white flour of 2-3 grades or flour of the same quality, sugar, chintz or coarse calico
Instructions
Step 1
To make a rosary from bread, you will need: proper bread, the worst quality is best, from white flour of 2-3 grades, sugar, rubbing cloth. White light bread with artificial fluffing agents, like Turkish bread, for example, is not suitable. Separate the crumb of bread from the crust, put it in a saucepan, add sugar by eye, the exact proportions can only be calculated empirically.
Step 2
Pour boiling water over the contents of a saucepan and leave in a warm place for a couple of days. The readiness of the mass can be determined by the characteristic sour smell, it is sour bread. Now take the material out of the water, squeeze it out slightly, rub it through a piece of calico or chintz, discard the rest.
Spread the resulting grated squeeze on cellophane to dry, stirring and turning from time to time. When the mass in its consistency becomes similar to plasticine, mold the rosary links from it. If they are laid out in a row at intervals of about 5 mm, the total length should be equal to the length of your palm, this is for a rosary.
Step 3
Since the end result is a very strong product, after the links dry, they should be pierced with a needle with a strong synthetic thread. As it dries, the thread should be pulled so that it does not dry out, and so that the holes are bored to the desired size for better gliding. You should also sculpt or cut out patterns and symbols with a knife while the material is still malleable.
You can paint the rosary black by rubbing several tablets of activated carbon into a plastic mass before sculpting. If you do not intend to heat the product, other colors can be achieved by adding paste from ballpoint pens to the mass.
Step 4
When the links are completely dry, for maximum strength of the rosary, remove them from the thread, place for a while in the cold oven of a gas stove, bring the temperature to 120-150 degrees, ignite without increasing the heat. After cooling down, you can cut off the swollen contours of the pattern or patterns with a knife or cutters, then collect the finished product.
