Instructions

Step 1

In order to knit mittens, you need five knitting needles and a set of threads. First of all, cast on the two knitting needles loops. To get the correct number of loops, you need to do a little calculation. To do this, measure the circumference of the hand, and then its length. Next, start collecting knots and distribute them across four knitting needles. After distribution, proceed to tying the elastic. It is best to knit according to the "2 to 2" system, that is, two front loops and two purl stitches. The elastic can be made in any size if desired. Basically, it is knitted by 15-20 centimeters. After tying, go to the main work.

Step 2

Knit only with the front stitch to the thumb. Then make a hole for it. To do this, on one of the knitting needles, knit the first loop and the last one, and remove the rest on a pin. In the next row on the same knitting needle, you need to add loops, the number of which is equal to the number of knots removed per pin. After that, continue to knit with the front stitch. When the length of the future mitten reaches the little finger, start decreasing the loops. To do this, close two loops on each side of the mittens in all rows. Continue this until there are two knots on the two needles. After that, cut the working thread and fix it with a crochet hook.

Step 3

Then start tying your thumb. Transfer all the loops from the pin to the knitting needle, typing on the second the same number of loops. After that, knit in a circle with the front stitch, not exceeding the height of the thumb. Then, on each side, subtract two knots. This leaves only two stitches on each spoke. Cut the main thread and crochet to knot. The second mitten is knitted in the same way. To prevent the mittens from looking monotonous and gray, you can use several colors of yarn. Or, for example, it is possible to create a pattern on your knitted product, which will make it original and unique in its kind.
