How pleasant it is to watch the drummers play as they create musical masterpieces with their kit. However, looking from the outside is one thing and it seems quite easy, and it is very difficult to learn this kind of game. In addition to the fact that a musician must have talent, he must also feel his instrument and be able to eliminate defects that arise over time, because every drum kit requires careful, timely tuning and debugging.
Instructions
Step 1
To tune a drum kit, there are specialists who offer their services for a fee, but why spend money and trust your instrument to strangers, if you can do everything yourself. I would like to note right away that the tuning of this or that drum should not take place on the carpet or on the floor, the drum should be on a stand.
Step 2
Tap on the drum head for each screw. Pull up in pitch only in areas that are understated. It is necessary to pull up until the plastic (drum body) builds by itself. In no case should the resonant side be ignored, since over time the tuning of the striking side will not at all correspond to the tuning of the resonant side, and it will be more and more difficult to make adjustments in the future, since over time the sound will be lower and lower, worse and worse.
Step 3
Hit the drum and listen. If the tuning is correct, stop and go to tuning the next drums, if not, continue tuning and for this follow the steps below.
Step 4
Tighten each head about 1/16 to 1/8 turn at a time. Pull up carefully so as not to damage the instrument and not spoil the sound at all.
Step 5
Listen to the sound, if the tuning is correct on the drum - stop, if not - move on.
Hit the resonant side, listen to the sound.
Step 6
Tighten one of the screws slowly. At the same time, be careful, you should tighten up no more than one turn. If the pitch is restored, then release the propeller back and slowly tighten all existing propellers until you reach the required height. If the instrument still does not sound right, loosen the screw and repeat on the striking side.
Step 7
In the event that all of the above actions did not bring results, most likely the matter is in the planting of the plastic. This can happen due to a sharp change in temperature to a low one. In this case, it is necessary to warm up the plastic of the drums around the entire circumference using an ordinary hair dryer, or to transplant the plastic and start the settings again.
