A drum kit is an independent musical instrument, like a piano or, say, a jew's harp, performing its own tasks in general musical harmony. Accordingly, the assembly of such an installation will depend on the tasks at hand, because working with jazz compositions or conducting a metal band requires completely different approaches and accessories.

Step 1
Check with yourself what you need from the installation. It is worth remembering that the abundance of accessories and components in the drum kit never spoke of the skill of the drummer himself, on the contrary, many recognized craftsmen over time simplified their working tools. The included drum kits may vary depending on the style of music you choose.
Step 2
Install the barrel. Assembling a drum kit usually begins with the installation of a kick drum - a kick drum, around which additional power is built up. The barrel is placed in a fixed position using the spacer legs, which are usually supplied with the instrument.
Step 3
Add a snare drum to the barrel. The second in order is the snare (or working) drum. Snare drums come in a variety of sizes and thus different sounds, which is why some drummers prefer to use multiple snares at once. They are installed on special tripod stands that are not supplied with the instrument itself.
Step 4
Set the plate. After installing the snare drum, a cymbal called ride is added to the installation, it is attached to a special crane. Kick, snare and ride are the minimum drum kit that is used in styles such as rockabilly, light jazz or Dixieland. Such settings are used by the groups "Mister Twister", The Dukes of Dixieland or even "Leningrad" for many compositions.
Step 5
Add what you need. Other styles of music often require more accessories. For example, the same jazz, progressive rock or fusion requires the installation of additional cymbals. In this case, we mean a cymbal with a powerful but short sound called a crash and two cymbals controlled by a pedal - hi-hat. It should be remembered that the need to install cymbals is due to the requirements for the sound of a particular composition and the skill of the drummer. For example, the British drummer from the rock band The Who preferred to use ride cymbals as crash cymbals, which did not affect the sound of his kit.
Step 6
Attach additional elements to the frame. To create certain sound effects, so-called effect cymbals are also used, which are installed on the installation using additional devices - clamps. Effect cymbals include chyna (small cymbals with characteristic "Chinese" ringing), splash (medium-sized cymbal), sizzle (special sounding cymbal), swish (a cymbal with metal parts that give additional sound), cowbell (a dull metal bell, usually in the form of a parallelepiped), a wood block (a ringing wooden bell), a tambourine and its close relative with a mouth.
Step 7
Install additional drums. When playing heavy styles of music, it becomes necessary to use violas - high, low and floor toms. They are usually installed in accordance with the names - next to the snare drum, just below it and on the floor with the help of tripods and clamps, however, drummers often arrange these drums according to their own understanding and depending on preferences.
Step 8
Install the gimbal and the second barrel. Special requirements dictate the use of a cardan - a special pedal that gives not one blow to the barrel, but two successive ones, as well as a second barrel.
