Old vinyl records that you can't throw away can be used as an excellent material for original crafts. With your creative imagination, you can recycle unnecessary things, turning them into useful ones.
Stylish pots from an old record
Before starting to work with the plate, it is advisable to scrape off the labels from it. To make it easier, put the plate in a bowl of cold water for a couple of hours, then remove the paper using a knife.
Pass a string through the hole in the plate. Use an awl to pierce the metal lid for tightening the cans. Pull one rope tail through the resulting hole and tie a metal nut on it. An unnecessary CD can be used in place of the cover. Now you can hold the vinyl record by the free end of the cord, and when needed, quickly pull out the fixture.
Light the stove. Bring the assembled structure to the burner at a distance of 20-30 cm. When the vinyl heats up, it will start to melt. That is, the edges of the plate will sag. It is important here to ensure that the material does not stick together.
Remove the plate from the heating element and place it on the mandrel. This can be an upside-down small saucepan or flower pot. Straighten the soft vinyl edges evenly, giving them a nice wavy or angular shape. All this must be done quickly, as the material cools and hardens. Remove the resulting blank from the mandrel.
Your artwork will look more interesting if you sprinkle it a little from the outside with a spray can of gold or silver paint.

Take a glass jar and wipe it dry to prevent it from bursting in the oven. Place the record over it so that the bottom of the can is aligned with the label on the vinyl. Set your structure to melt by preheating the oven to 130 ° C. Follow the process carefully. When the edges of the plate fall off, take out the jar.
You can soften vinyl by placing the record in a bowl of water and placing it on a fire. In hot water, the record will become soft and pliable for creativity.
Put on work knitted gloves and begin to bend the edges in a wave-like manner, lifting them up. You can glue the individual waves or collect them all together in the center. You should have a tall container that can hold pens and pencils.
Phonograph record
An original clock for interior decoration can be made from a regular plate by decorating it using decoupage technique. Purchase a clockwork from a craft store. You can buy beautiful napkins there or use your stocks. For the dial to have an antique look, you will need a boiled egg shell, peeled from the inner film.
Lubricate a small area of vinyl with PVA glue and glue the shell to it. Press on it with a wooden stick to make the pieces small. Thus, arrange the entire plate on one side.
With the same stick, place the pieces of the shell evenly over the surface so that approximately equal gaps are obtained between them.
Cover the entire mosaic surface with white acrylic paint and dry. Spread the plate with PVA glue. Pull or cut the desired piece from the napkin. Peel off the colored part and put it on the glue. Smooth out the picture with a brush. If you get small creases, don't straighten them out. This will add additional charm to the work, exacerbating its old age. Cover the dried surface with acrylic varnish and install the clockwork.
