World of Warcraft is considered to be the most popular RPG in the world. The developer of this game product, Blizzard, is constantly updating the game with additions and patches. A player who has installed the latest WoW 3 patch may find that this version is not supported by the game server where he planned to start the game. In such cases, you need to roll back the version of the game.

It is necessary

  • - Installed game World of Warcraft 3;
  • - Internet connection.

Instructions

Step 1

Make a backup copy of the game folder. This operation must be carried out so that you do not have to download and install WoW 3 again if, due to an error or a malfunction in the computer, the version of the game cannot be rolled back. If you have Warcraft 3 on drive C, be sure to create a backup copy on some other drive. For example, place it at D: GamesWorldofWarcraftIII. Now, in the event of a failure, you can always revert to the originally installed version of the game.

Step 2

Delete all folders from the game directory except the Data folder. Under no circumstances should you delete individual files.

Step 3

Go to the Data folder and delete the patch files from it, for example, patch. MPQ and patch-2. MPQ.

Step 4

Find in the ruRU folder located in the Data folder a file called realmist.wtf. This is a text document that contains information about game servers. Open the realmist.wtf file in any text editor. It is best to use Notepad for this purpose. Click on the file with the right mouse button, in the menu that appears, select "Open with" and select "Notepad" from the list of proposed programs.

Step 5

Remove all information from the realmist.wtf file, and then add the following line to it: setrealmlist eu.logon.worldofwarcraft.com. Now save and close the file.

Step 6

Find the file Repair.exe in the game folder, which is a program created by the developer specifically for such cases. Make sure your computer is connected to the Internet and run the Repair.exe program. If the message Cannot connect to the server appears, restart the startup.

Step 7

Check all three checkboxes in the Blizzard Repair box that appears and click on the Reset and Check Files button. It will take a few minutes to check and restore the client's files, and then a window should appear with the text Blizzard Repair has successfully repaired World of Warkraft. This means that Warcraft 3 has successfully rolled back to its original version.
