The main difference between the ringtone used for SMS is that it is in AIFF format, not AAC. In order to put music on a ringtone, you must first select a suitable melody and cut it to reduce the size.
It is necessary
- - a computer;
- - a device for communication between a phone and a computer.
Instructions
Step 1
Take Mp3 file and cut it with any music editor. For example, Nero Wave Editor is suitable for these purposes. This is done in order to reduce the size of the file - after its format changes, it will have a size much larger than the previous one; it will take longer to set to ringtone. It is better to make a piece of melody no more than 30 seconds long.
Step 2
Add the file to your iTunes library. To do this, in the open iTunes, select "File", then "Add File to Library". A new file will appear in the "Music" section, but it will still be in Mp3 format.
Step 3
Set up iTunes to convert to AIF format. To do this, you need to put the AIFF encoder in the iTunes settings. Select "Edit", "Settings …", and in the window that opens, select the "General" tab. After that, click the "Import Settings" button, and another window will open. Set the "Importer" property to "AIFF Encoder" and save the settings.
Step 4
Convert your media file to get a ringtone. To do this, go to the library, right-click on the desired melody and in the window that appears, select "Create version for AIFF". After that, converting will begin, at the end of which another file will appear in the library, which has the same name, but in AIF format. You can delete the Mp3 file from your library - you won't need it anymore.
Step 5
Move the AIF file from the library to any place on your computer, for example, to your desktop, simply by dragging it there with the mouse. Find your ringtone copied to your computer and change its resolution from AIF to CAF by simply renaming it. For example, if the file was named zvuk.aif, you should get zvuk.caf.
Step 6
Place the resulting file in the desired folder on your phone using the program that suits your model. After the file is in the phone, it is available for use as a ringtone.
