Step 1
Start learning to weave rugs with national motives. It is always easier to find a fairly simple drawing with characteristic colors: red, yellow, black with the addition of green or brown. If you wish, you can draw the picture yourself.
Take a size of 18 cm x 15 cm. Determine the density - 22 knots, this will be 22 pairs for every 10 cm.
Step 2
Prepare a technical drawing. It will be easier for you to work with flowers, birds. Don't make too small shapes. Your dominant direction is horizontal, which means that most of your lines should run horizontally, or stick to an angle of no more than 45 degrees. Decide where you will place each color, indicate these places in the picture or color it. Do not remove the paper along the borders of the drawing, leave 2 - 3 cm. After all, then you will need to sew the drawing to earnings.
Step 3
Stretch the base. With the width of the rug you selected, 18 cm and a knot density of 22, you should pull 39.5 pairs, which will fit 79 threads.
Step 4
Divide the threads into even and odd rows with a stick. Insert a piece of cardboard from the bottom edge. Now weave 2 "pigtails" - one at the top and the other at the bottom. Weave the earpiece with a width of 1.5 cm - 2 cm. Lay the technical drawing on the back of the base. With large stitches, sew the pattern to the earning so that it does not slide down and mow.
Step 5
Pick the first color along the way and weave within that color. The element that needs to be made "convex", weave with the help of shorter throws.
Step 6
In places with vertical lines longer than 1 cm, grip the wefts to avoid large holes. Weave according to the pattern, check the accuracy. Sew your pattern to the woven fabric along the way. Make sure that the rug does not shrink in certain places. When the drawing is completely woven, then weave the earnings up to 2 cm. Attach the top braid to it, now cut the warp threads, but leave 5 - 7 cm at the top and bottom edges.
