Biography
Ayumi Hamasaki was born on October 2, 1978 in the city of Fukuoka. When the girl was two years old, her father left the family, and her mother and grandmother raised her. Since the mother of the future singer was constantly working, most of the time she was left to herself. But the girl was never mad at her.
At the age of seven, Ayumi starred in an advertisement for the central bank of Fukuoka. While in high school, she was perceived as a difficult teenager and as a result, the girl dropped out and left for Tokyo to pursue a modeling career with the full approval of her grandmother.

On September 21, 1995, Ayumi released her first hip-hop single "Nothing From Nothing" under the pseudonym AYUMI.
Later Ayu decided to try herself as a rap artist and on December 1, 1995 she released her first mini-album "Nothing From Nothing". This did not bring her much popularity, and in 1996 she was lost in the crowd of the same young performers. And in 1997, her name completely disappeared from the music entertainment industry.
Perhaps her singing career would have ended there, but meeting with the producer of the record company Avex turned Ayu's life upside down. He saw real talent in the girl and offered to move to New York to undergo professional vocal training.
In 1998, Ayumi returned to the music scene.
