The velvet baritone of the Soviet Belarusian pop singer Viktor Vuyachich conquered many Soviet citizens in his time. He had no childhood dream - to sing. Life simply led Victor by the handle from step to step.
Childhood
Viktor Lukyanovich Vuyachich was born on July 11, 1934 in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov, in the family of a Serb who emigrated first to the United States, and then to the USSR and a real Cossack woman. My father was an engineer, and my mother worked in the cafeteria. At the age of nine months, the child's parents separated. The son stayed with his mother, later the parents decided that his father would raise him.
With the beginning of the war, the plant where Lukyan Vuyachich worked was transferred to the city of Rubtsovsk, Altai Territory, where the future famous artist lived in his childhood and youth. The boy went to work at a factory during the war. Like most children of the Soviet past, he studied singing in the school choir, and then in the house of culture, he also sang in the choir. He got vocal data from his mother and her relatives, they all sang beautifully.
The young soldier Vuyachich did not part with the song either. He served in the navy in Kaliningrad, for four years he sang in the choir of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet. Demobilized, he decided not to return to his family, his father had moved to Lugansk by that time, but to start an independent life in a large city. I chose Minsk quite by accident.
Career
In the capital of Belarus, he gets a job in the state folk choir, performs as a soloist, and later was the choir of the Belarusian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company. At the same time, Victor is receiving professional education at the Glinka School.
A young soloist who joined the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Belarusian Military District, a little-known singer wins first prize at the All-Union Soviet Song Contest, beating the venerable Joseph Kobzon and Vadim Mulerman.
And then victories and prizes poured down on him, as if from a cornucopia. "Golden Orpheus", Sopot, a festival in Tokyo, a trip to Chile for an international festival. Invitations to all significant television concerts, tours of the Soviet Union, foreign trips around the world. And everywhere he proudly represented the country of the Soviets and its patriotic songs. A wide range of song genres was presented in his repertoire: folk song, lyric, pop, romances, opera arias.
After the collapse of the USSR, the singer worked in Belarus. Along with rehearsals and participation in concerts, he served as the artistic director of the Belconcert.
Personal life
In 1957, having just entered the service of the Philharmonic, Viktor meets the soloist of the dance group Svetlana. The courtship lasted five long years. And it was impossible otherwise - young people constantly performed somewhere, meetings rarely happened, but the feelings turned out to be strong.
In 1962, they got married, and the next year, their son Andrei was born. The parents continued their concert activities, the child was helped by Svetlana's mother. He received a higher education, not related to artistic activities, and pleased his parents with two grandchildren.
The family has lived for almost forty years in love, friendship and trust. With a difference of two years, the couple received the title of People's Artist.
On September 17, 1999, everyone's favorite artist passed away. In the capital of Belarus, in memory of him, several memorial plaques have been opened.
