The name of any project, whether in creativity, or in business or in another area, must meet two basic requirements - brevity and capacity. In turn, each of these qualities includes several characteristics that allow you to choose the one you want from a variety of options.
Instructions
Step 1
The concept of brevity, first of all, should include ease of pronunciation. This is especially true for the names of musical groups, which spectators and fans will chant during the performance. The name should have a moderate number of consonants, and there should be no more than two in a row. Avoid difficult-to-pronounce combinations. To identify them, simply say the potential name out loud.
Step 2
The group name should contain from one to three words, each up to four syllables. Longer words are harder to pronounce and less memorable. In addition, practice shows that the compound names of groups are reduced to one word - a noun, more often the first word in the name. For example, "Sister-in-law get-togethers" can be reduced to "Sister-in-law" or to "Sit-downs".
Step 3
The capacity means the polysemy and deep semantic layers of the name. An example would be the above phrase. The initial transcript is a visit to the husband's sister or a visit from the husband's sister (with an undefined purpose). However, in the cultural tradition, this was the name of one of the Shrovetide days (namely Saturday), when married ladies invited her husband's sisters. The name of the group should also serve as an allusion to a specific event or phenomenon that is meaningful to all participants.
Step 4
The name should be directly related to the activities and composition of the group. So, "Zolovkin's gatherings" is a good name for a folk group of some girls or a leisure center for young married women who are engaged in folk crafts.
Step 5
When choosing a name, prepare several options in advance that fully meet the above criteria. During the voting of all participants or only the leadership of the group, filter out the excess and leave only one option that suits all or most of the participants.
