The image of a person is a task that no art school can do without. Students await him with special trepidation, because a couple of wrong strokes can ruin the result of many hours of work and offend the model. To minimize this risk, use a few general rules for drawing a person.
It is necessary
- - paper;
- - pencil;
- - eraser;
- - the Internet;
- - model.
Instructions
Step 1
Start the study of the human figure with its proportions. In order to calculate the correct ratio of body parts in the figure, use the "average" physique scheme. It uses head height as the unit of measurement. The growth of an adult is approximately 7.5-8 such values. Draw a vertical centerline in the picture and mark eight equal line segments on it. The head will be located at the distance from the first top serif to the second. At the level of the fifth mark on the axis is the groin area. By measuring two such segments from the lowest point of the axis, you will calculate the location of the knee joints. The width of the shoulders of a woman will be one and a half of the height of the head, and a man's will be two. From the chin to the tips of the fingers of the lowered hands, 3, 7 units of measurement will fit. Adjust these proportions to suit your model's body.
Step 2
By the same principle, the correct outlines of the face are built. Taking as a basis the standard ratios of its parts, the artist changes them, focusing on reality. Draw a rectangle on paper and divide it in half vertically and horizontally. The eyes will be located on the horizontal line. The distance between them will be equal to the width of the wings of the nose. The tip of the nose should be on the horizontal line dividing the bottom of the rectangle in half. The same distance at the top of the figure will be between the eyes and the hairline. The line of the lower lip of the "average" face coincides with the middle of the lowermost part of the rectangle.
Step 3
Gradually learn the basics of anatomy. To draw a person, even wrapped in clothes, ideally correctly, you need to know where each of his muscles is located and where the joints are. Consider in the drawing the place of the natural folds of the arms and legs and the real movement of the muscles that change the facial expression.
Step 4
Complement the perfectly built outlines of the person with correctly drawn clothing. Place the folds of the fabric where the arm or leg is bent, repeating their outlines and taking into account the stiffness of the fabric: if thin and soft materials follow the outline of the body, then dense ones can create a new relief.
Step 5
The chosen angle of the drawing can make a person beautiful or spoil his appearance. Try not to emphasize the model's shortcomings by choosing a pose for her and the point from which you will look at her. Do not draw a large person, looking at him from the bottom up and do not place an overly slender model on a background of voluminous objects.
Step 6
Be careful with your lighting setup. Make sure that the shadow does not obscure the person's face or figure in such a way that it leads to a comic effect in the painting (for example, legs in the shadow will give the impression of a body floating in the air).
