Step 1
To begin with, no matter how trivial it may seem to you, practice drawing geometric shapes - rectangles, squares, cubes, cuboids (cubes with unequal faces). Humanity has come up with many architectural delights, but one way or another - the vast majority of houses are square or rectangular boxes. Are you sure you can draw a neat parallelogram?
Step 2
You can draw buildings both from nature and from a photograph. Equip yourself with a ruler and take measurements of the roof and walls from where you are standing (or from a photograph if you are drawing from it). This must be done so that the roof does not creep onto the house, and the far wall does not suddenly become higher than the one that is closer to you. Write down the results of your measurements and, based on them, sketch the drawing.
Step 3
Now you can connect the lines of the sketch into a seamless pattern. Keep in mind that massive structures, such as a high-rise monolith or fortress, are best drawn with a thick pencil, while graceful towers and cozy village houses are better drawn with a thin one.
Step 4
Pay attention to details, because they are the ones that make the drawing complete. Draw windows, doors, a chimney from which smoke comes out, a neat porch. If you are creating an urban landscape, there may be flower beds, a playground, benches near your house. Fantasize to bring life to your painting.
Step 5
If necessary, draw the texture: brickwork near a medieval castle, blocks of slabs of a modern high-rise building, the wooden texture of a country house.
Step 6
You can leave your drawing in black and white, only by drawing outlines and shadows, or you can decorate it with paints or pencils. If you have chosen paints, then after applying one color, let the painting dry. Thus, you will avoid mixing colors, and your buildings will delight with their rich colors.
