Most of the festivals, especially open airs, are held in the summer. The organizers try to make the most of the three months of good weather. True, most of the holidays are held outside the city, on large venues free from the bustle of the city. So, in Moscow in July there were only two open-airs.
On July 21, the long-awaited Afisha Picnic, a festival initiated by Afisha magazine, took place. The one-day open air was held for the ninth time. A lot of hipsters and just lovers of good music and a pleasant company gathered on the territory of the Kolomenskoye Museum-Reserve. Despite the unspoken status of "hipster", this festival was interesting for fans of various musical genres: the organizers insist that "Picnic" should be multi-format.
This time, five scenes were created on the territory of the festival. The headliners of the festival - Mika, Franz Ferdinand, Pet Shop Boys - played on the main stage. They took to the stage in the late afternoon - the stars replaced each other from 17 to 21:00. In the morning, viewers could appreciate the group Pompeya - this year's opening. After them, all the fans of such music moved to the second stage, where The Retuses had already begun to sing. During the day, at different venues, you could listen to Boris Grebenshchikov, Anatoly Ice & Dariya, The Drums, The Melodies, Jack Wood, Messer Chups, Moremoney, Oxxxymiron, Vladi.
The pleasure at the Afisha Picnic was not limited only to music. The guests took part in master classes, played outdoor games, bargained in open-air "bazaars" and refreshed themselves with traditional pilaf at the food court.
Two weeks earlier, the less well-known, more intimate More Amore festival took place. It took place in the Hermitage Garden. Visitors appreciate this open air not only as a concert venue, but also as a place to spend time with the family. On the territory of the Garden, sun loungers and blankets were placed. Visitors could play badminton, twister, or any other game, or simply lie on the lawn chatting and sipping lemonade.
Especially for children, a Neptune holiday, a parade of marine life, water fights and a mini-pool were organized. The festival is initiated by the Seasons magazine, and therefore the creative spirit was the main component of More Amore. Adults and children could buy designer gizmos or take part in master classes to create something similar.
Of course, it was not without music. At 5 pm, InWhite set the tone - the best young Russian team, according to Timeout. Then Vera Polozkova recited poems about love to the accompaniment of her musicians. At seven in the evening the band Kvartal took the stage, and at eight they were replaced by the headliner of the festival - the young and romantic Charlie Winston.
