Step 1

Don't start your vocals with high notes. Ligaments, like muscles, must first "warm up", acquire elasticity. To do this, start by practicing legato and average register for your voice.

Do not strive to master the full range of the voice during your first vocal lessons. This is especially true for young people, both boys and girls. During puberty, the voice undergoes significant changes in both sexes: it becomes coarser, acquires characteristic shades and range. Having decided on the timbre, warming up and preparing the voice apparatus, go directly to the high notes. During the ascending passages, create the impression that you are going down instead of up. This technique will remove the psychological clamp. The lower sound does not seem difficult to play.

Extend your stomach and tighten your muscles. Although the air comes out and you instinctively want to squeeze your abdominal muscles, you should do the opposite: this will create the pressure necessary to support the sound. This is what is called support. Reinforce the support with a comfortable position of your legs (about shoulder width apart), by squeezing the pelvic muscles. The back should be straight, the shoulders are open. This position makes the lungs work as easy as possible.

Step 5

Tighten your lip muscles to form a vowel. A relaxed mouth will "extinguish" the sound, depriving it of composure, flightiness and partly intonational accuracy. Your entire body should be a musical instrument, ready to play.

Step 6

Direct the sound forward. Do not try to increase the volume by exhaling air. It is better not to worry about the volume at all: a properly formed sound, even in the nuance of the piano, will be heard at a great distance.
