Bolero vest is one of the types of cropped jacket. Usually it only covers the chest or reaches the middle of it. You can create a fashionable bolero in half an hour from an old fluffy skirt or a rectangular piece of fabric.

A bolero jacket will effectively complement a tight-fitting dress. If you have an open evening outfit, a short vest will cover the top. To create a new thing, you need a little base and lining fabric.

If you want to make a short jacket, it is enough to take only 50 cm of both fabrics.

If you like a sleeveless model, then you only need 2 patterns - half front and back. Fold the fabric in half. The back is one-piece, so line up the mid-vertical fold of this piece with the fold of the fabric. Cut out, leaving 5-7 mm for the seams at the edges.

Attach the front piece to the fabric, pin it with pins, outline, cut along the markings. Since the canvas is folded in half, you will get 2 front details - the right and left shelves, they are symmetrical. The fabric part of the back is one.

Cut identical lining fabrics in the same way. It should be the same color as the main one, or in harmony with it. You can start creating new items. Start with the main fabric and sew the shoulder seams and then the side seams. Do the same with the lining blanks.

Align the two sewn waistcoats by right-folding them together. Then sew them together. To do this, first sew two armhole seams, then the rest. At the back, leave a gap of 30 cm unsewn. Turn the product through it to the front side, but first iron the seams with a steamer. When you turn the bolero to the right side, iron the seams on that side too.

Place gauze soaked in water between the iron and the fabric, then the seams will not shine. If you have a modern iron, iron the vest with it at the correct temperature.

Stitch the edges of the product, the seam width is 3-4 mm. When doing this, remember to wrap the ends of the fabric on the bottom of the back inward. The creative manual work is over, you can enjoy the excellent result and shine in a new outfit. If desired, you can trim the bolero with lace, a strip of leather.

If you do not have a pattern, but have a short skirt made from a rectangle, transform it into a bolero in 20 minutes. To do this, it is enough to whip a wide elastic band, which served as her belt. If there is no such skirt, take a measuring tape. Attach the beginning to the middle of the back of your neck. Next, pass the tape to the front of the neck, under the armpits and bring it back. See how many centimeters have turned out to the middle of the spine. Multiply the result by 2.

Lay the fabric in front of you, cut a rectangle out of it. Its width is the figure that you just got after measuring. The length corresponds to the desired length of the bolero vest. If you used a skirt after you whipped the elastic, simply iron the fabric. Sew the rectangular fabric by stitching two short opposite sides together.

Put on a new thing like a backpack. Attach it to your back, stick your hands through the formed right and left holes. In this case, the side seam should lie vertically - in the middle of the back of the neck. You can sew a belt loop with one edge attached to the middle of the back and the other to the center back of the neck. On the chest, the vest can be fastened with one button.
