Each country has an animal or bird that symbolizes it. Some local residents of Japan believe that the green pheasant is the symbol of their country. The other half of the inhabitants believe that the Tanko stork is the best symbol for Japan. Therefore, they could not help but make a stork figurine in their national art of origami.
How to make a paper stork?
To make a symbol of Japan, you will need a square sheet of clean white paper, scissors, a ruler and some red paint. It is best to take a square of paper with a size of at least 70 centimeters. But in order for the stork to be hung from the ceiling, it must be made of thick cardboard. The cardboard should be thick, but no corrugated paper in the middle.
1. Take a piece of paper and outline its diagonal. Fold the sheet and unfold it back.
2. Bend the left and right corners to a diagonal line and iron the workpiece with your hand or a ruler for a clearer fold.
3. Draw a bisector on the left and right triangles from the diagonal line. Bend the triangles bisecting to a diagonal line.
4. Fold the upper part of the part under the lower one.
5. Pull the corners inside the part down.
6. Fold the left and right sides towards the center. The triangle that turned out after this must be flattened with your hands.
7. Rotate the part to the other side.
8. It is necessary to cut the upper triangle to approximately the middle of the entire figure. Bend the bottom sides over the cut part.
9. On the cut halves, mark triangles with interior angles of 90, 60 and 30 degrees. Fold these triangles down.
10. Bend the shape along the center vertical line and rotate it 90 degrees.
11. Bend the stork's neck up. Bend the top of the shape to make the wings. Bend the left side of the figure to get the slender legs of the stork.
12. Make two small zigzag folds on the stork's neck, forming the beak and head.
To create the symbol of Japan, you need red paint. Take a brush and apply a small spot on the stork's head. Real Tanko storks have a red spot about the size of a five-ruble coin.
