Even the most inexperienced knitter can knit a men's scarf - this is a very simple model. But even a simple thing can be a good gift for a man, which he will be proud of, especially if it is neatly knitted, and the color or combination of colors is chosen tastefully.

It is necessary

  • Yarn (3-5 skeins depending on the length and thickness of the thread)
  • Knitting needles (the number of knitting needles is selected depending on the thickness of the yarn)
  • Scissors
  • Needle with a wide eye for closing loops
  • Initial knitting skills (set and closure of loops, knitting an elastic band)

Instructions

Step 1

First, knit a pattern to calculate the number of loops for the selected scarf width. To do this, untie a square about 12x12 cm with the pattern you chose for the scarf. Wash, dry, iron lightly and count the number of loops of the sample in 10 cm. Let's say, in 10 cm, there are 25 loops, which means 1 cm = 2.5 loops. You need a scarf 20 cm wide, which means we multiply 20 by 2, 5, we get 50 loops, this is how many loops you will need to type on the knitting needles for the desired width.

Step 2

Type the required number of loops on the knitting needles and knit the desired scarf length with the selected pattern.

Step 3

When you run out of another skein of yarn, try to connect it with a new one at the very edge of knitting, i.e. from a new row, not in the middle. The threads are much easier to hide in the edge loops, and the scarf will then look neater.

Step 4

You can complete the scarf either with knitting needles or with a needle with a wide eye, into which the thread itself from the yarn is threaded. When knitting with an elastic band, close the loops according to the pattern, i.e. knit alternately with front and back, and pull each previous loop through the next. This will make the edge of the scarf look neat, similar to the starting edge.

Step 5

Cut the thread, secure and hide the ends.
