Small pile rugs are very comfortable. They are placed in front of the entrance to the house, decorate children's rooms and bedrooms. Moreover, making them from threads will not be difficult even for novice needlewomen.
Long pile rug
This rug, soft and fluffy, can be laid near the bed, it is very pleasant to step on it when getting out of bed in the morning. To make a product, prepare:
- leftover yarn;
- burlap;
- cardboard;
- scissors;
- a needle with a wide eye;
- a sewing machine.
Cut a rectangle of the desired size from the burlap. This will be the basis for the future rug. To prevent the edges of the part from unraveling, process them on an overlock or sew them with a bias tape.
Prepare a cardboard template. Cut 2 identical strips, 15-20 cm long and 7-8 cm wide. Fold them together and start winding with yarn, placing the turns as close to each other as possible.
Take a needle with a wide eye, insert a piece of yarn into it and sew a needle forward seam on one side of the template. Then take scissors and cut the yarn between the pieces of the template on the other side. Straighten the threads carefully. The result is a fringed piece of braid.
Attach the resulting tape to the burlap and sew it with a sewing machine. Make the next piece of thread in the same way. Place it close to the seam of the first fringe sewn on and sew on as well. Fill in the entire space of the burlap and trim the edges of the threads.
Pom-pom rug
This option can also be made from multi-colored leftover yarn and a piece of burlap. Cut out 2 round pom-pom templates. Wrap yarn around them so that the middle is completely covered. Cut the threads along the edge, part the cardboard pieces a little and wrap the yarn in the middle. Remove the templates and trim the edges of the pompom. Make several dozen of these parts, their number will depend on the size of the rug.
Sew the pom-poms to the burlap, placing them as close to each other as possible. Sew the edges of the rug with a bias tape to match the yarn.
Crochet rug
To make such a rug, you need several balls of yarn of different colors and a hook number 7. Fold the threads together, the more threads, the thicker the rug will be. However, do not use too many of them, as thick yarns will be very difficult to work with.
Make one air loop and start knitting with ordinary crochets in a circle, increasing their number in each row so that the fabric is even. Tie to the desired size and make a bartack, hide the tail of the yarn between the loops of the canvas.
