If the fashion for hats for adults never ceases to amaze with its changeability, then the classics reign in the children's wardrobe. This is due to practicality, a necessary criterion for choosing clothes for babies. To knit a hat for a child that is not only comfortable, but also beautiful, you do not need to invent anything. A round toe, a lush pom-pom - and in front of you is a product that will not lose its relevance for a long time.
It is necessary
- - tailor's meter;
- - 2 straight needles # 3;
- - darning needle;
- - scissors;
- - yarn;
- - cardboard;
- - compasses;
- - contrasting threads.
Instructions
Step 1
Measure the circumference of the child's head with a tailor's meter and tie a small sample of fabric with an elastic band (alternating front and back stitches) and hosiery (only front stitches on the “face” of the product and back stitches from the wrong side). For example: the size of the future headdress is 45, the knitting density is 2 loops per 1 cm. In this case, to knit a hat, it is enough to dial 76 loops on two straight knitting needles No. 3.
Step 2
Tie the bottom of the baby hat with a 1x1 elastic band. When the canvas reaches 3 cm in height, knit the line of the future lapel. To do this, change the sequence of loops in the elastic fabric: do the front loops over the wrong ones, and the wrong ones over the front ones. From the next row, continue working as usual.
Step 3
When the total height of the rim of the knitted hat reaches 6 cm, divide the row into 6 equal sections; at the border of each, add a loop. Do this by knitting two from each front at once: first the front, then the purl.
Step 4
Go to hosiery. Work on the canvas without adjustments or increases in loops - this part of knitting will make up the bulk of the product (cap of the headdress). For a size 45 beanie, you need to make about 17 straight and back rows.
Step 5
Start shaping the top. Divide the row into 7 equal segments, mark the beginning of each with a contrasting thread.
Step 6
Follow the next rows, while at the site of each mark, knit a pair of adjacent loops together. Do this through a row (from the "face" of the work) until there are only 4 loops on the left knitting needle. The toe of the headgear should be neatly rounded, symmetrical paths - "pigtails" will appear in place of the closed loops.
Step 7
Pull off the open bows of the top of the hat with a working thread, cut it off with a small margin and tuck the “tail” into the product. Now you need to sew a baby hat in the back with a thread of a suitable tone.
Step 8
Prepare a pompom. Draw two identical circles on the cardboard with a compass, in the middle of each - a circle of smaller diameter. The distance from the point of the inner circle to the point of the outer circle (segment A) in centimeters is the height of each thread that will make up the pompom. In order for the decoration to turn out to be voluminous, you need to increase the length of segment A, use a large number of threads.
Step 9
Fold cardboard blanks together and wrap tightly with yarn. Cut along the outside edge, then tie the bundle tightly in the middle. Now you can remove the circles and, if necessary, trim the finished pompom with sharp scissors. Sew the jewelry to the top of the headdress - and the baby hat is ready.
