Jack's head or Jack's lantern, or, more simply, a pumpkin for Halloween is an indispensable attribute of this merry holiday. Her image can decorate posters and postcards with which you will congratulate your friends.

It is necessary

A sheet of paper, a pencil, an eraser, materials for work in color

Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the materials you need for the job. Using a simple pencil, start sketching the pumpkin. First, draw a circle on a piece of paper. If it is uneven, it's okay, because the pumpkin itself does not have an ideal circle shape. It can be different - and a little flattened at the top, and a little elongated.

Step 2

Draw several lines along the body of the vegetable from top to bottom. This will mark the embossed sides of the pumpkin. Draw a thick ponytail on top of the fruit. Some pumpkins have it cut off for Halloween, but sometimes they leave it. First mark the ponytail with a rectangle, then round its corners and draw the bottom. The bottom of the remainder of the stem should grow into the middle of the fruit, if visible in your drawing.

Step 3

Now draw the "evil" face of the pumpkin. The eyes can be drawn as elongated triangles, and the nose as a small triangle. Then draw two arcs to form a smile. In this open mouth, you can draw several uneven teeth (two or three pieces) in the form of squares. Using the eraser, erase unnecessary lines (in the opening of the eyes, mouth and nose). Start doing the work in color.

Step 4

It is best to use felt-tip pens or gouache for work - the drawing will look brighter. The pumpkin will look good on a dark background - choose black, dark blue, burgundy or dark emerald. Cover the space behind the fruit gently. Then paint the pumpkin itself with an orange tint. When working on the stem of the fruit, add a little green to the base color. Paint some yellow around the holes. Add light brown shadows to the vegetable.

Step 5

Paint the eye sockets, nose and mouth with bright yellow and add white if working with gouache. To make the drawing clearer, stroke with a thin black felt-tip pen. Circle the pumpkin itself, the eye sockets, and the vegetable reliefs.
