Replacing files in the game may be required in various situations. For example, you want to Russify the game, improve the graphics in it, or add new features. Be that as it may, the principle of replacing files in most cases is the same.
Instructions
Step 1
During operation, the application accesses resources with a specific name located in a specific location (most often in the directory with the game installed). Therefore, the files proposed for replacement will have the same name as the original file. Take precautions before replacing the original file with a custom one.
Step 2
Open the folder with the file you are going to replace, copy the original file to the clipboard and paste it into a non-game resource folder. For example, save it to your Desktop or any local drive. Most importantly, remember the directory where you copied the original file. This is necessary so that in case of incorrect operation of the game with a new file, you do not have to reinstall the game.
Step 3
Go to the folder with the replacement file, copy it to the clipboard and open the folder with the original game file. Right-click anywhere in the folder and select the "Paste" command from the drop-down menu. You can also use the keys on the keyboard or the top line of the window menu for this. The system will notify you that there is already a file with the same name in the selected folder. To the question "Replace?" answer in the affirmative.

In cases where your new file is in an archive (.zip,.rar), you can unpack it directly to the desired directory without copying it to the clipboard. Open the archive, select the required file and specify the directory where it should be saved. The system will also warn you that there is already a file with the same name in the selected folder. Step 5
If the new file is causing the game to crash, simply replace it with the original file you saved earlier. To do this, follow all the same steps: copy the original, go to the desired folder and paste the "working" file from the clipboard into it. Answer affirmatively to the question about replacement. Do not rename the files, otherwise the game will not recognize them and therefore will be ignored.
