Making a frame for a painting or photograph is not at all difficult, and the materials for making are simple and affordable. You do not need expensive professional services - you can arrange decorative elements of the interior with your own hands.
It is necessary
- - baguette;
- - thick cardboard or plywood;
- - cutter;
- - masking tape;
- - metal ruler;
- - small carnations;
- - cord.
Instructions
Step 1
Before work, carefully consider the pattern of the frame and the color of the mat, make accurate measurements of the picture inserted into the frame. If you need to reduce the pattern or trim frayed edges, cut with a knife along a metal ruler.
Step 2
Mark the dimensions of the drawing as accurately as possible in the center of the mat. Take a mat cutter (or bevel cutter) and carefully cut a rectangle in the center, then remove it from the mat.
Step 3
Measure the length of the outer sides of the mat carefully. Cut four pieces of the wooden profile to size, beveling the ends. This is the most difficult stage of the work, it requires accuracy and precision. Be careful, otherwise the connection will come out loose, and you will have to do everything again. The length of the profile must be greater than the length of the corresponding edge.
Step 4
Apply wood glue to the ends of the profile sections and glue them together. Connect each joint with two staples, this will give more strength to the joint. Let the parts dry.
Step 5
Attach the drawing to the mat, for this you will need a masking tape. Make sure that the drawing fills the entire "window" in the mat.
Step 6
Take thick cardboard or plywood, cut to fit the frame. Insert into the frame, covering the mat and drawing. Secure with small studs.
Step 7
Glue the joint between the frame and the "cover". Use an awl to make holes on the back of the frame, screw in the ears and attach the cord. The frame is ready, you can hang it on the wall.
