A music track is similar in structure to a puff cake, where the cakes are soundtracks, and the layer is the "tasty" effects of the sound editor. Professional recording rarely takes place live, usually sound engineers use the method of overlaying one track on another, resulting in a complete composition. In musical circles, this procedure is called mixing. With a personal computer, anyone can feel like a little "star" recording in a home studio, since it is not very easy to create a soundtrack.

Instructions

Step 1

If you need to create only one audio track, for example, for recording a voice message, lecture, conference, live performance or playing one musical instrument, then you can use the standard computer programs. Go to the desktop in the "Start" menu. Then go to the "Programs" section. Click the Accessories service. Select the "Sound Recorder" service from the resulting long list. This is the simplest one-track recording software created by Microsoft especially for hobbyists. After that, a compact window with a single button "Start recording" will appear.

Step 2

Be sure to connect a microphone device, either built-in or external, before recording. To do this, go to the "Start" menu in the "Control Panel" folder. Then select the Sound service. In the new window that appears, go to the middle tab "Recording". Next, find the Microphone device and right-click on it. In the additional list, click "Enable". At the bottom of the window, click "Ok". Also adjust the volume balance in the Volume section. The entrance to it is located in the form of a small icon with a picture of a speaker, next to the time display on the desktop.

Step 3

Return to the "Sound Recorder" window and click on the "Start Recording" button. The sound will start to be recorded. Stop the recording process by clicking the "Stop" button, which will appear in place of the "Start recording" button. A new "Save As" window will automatically appear. In the first field, specify the name of the file, in the second its type. In the overview, find a folder suitable for storing the "fresh" track. Then click the "Save" button. If necessary, enter the artist name and album title by clicking on the blue text links at the bottom of the Sound Recorder window.

Step 4

Also learn how to include an audio track in a multitrack sound editor or sequencer. You will need to purchase any known free or inexpensive music recording software - Nero Wave Editor, Audasity (free editor), Gold Wave, etc. If your budget allows, then buy a professional program - Steinberg Cubase, Adobe Audition, Cakewalk Sonar, Logic Pro (for Mac OS), etc. Each program has its own interface. It differs, of course, but on the whole the basis remains the same.

Step 5

Start any of the listed sound editors. Open the "File" section in the top menu bar. Select the "Create" command, after which an empty track for sound recording will appear in the workspace of the program. To start the recording process, click on the "Record" button in the recording and playback toolbar, which usually has a red dot. The sound you record onto the track will take on a waveform. Click the Stop button to stop recording. The first audio track will be ready. To create another audio track, search for an insert service. It is usually found in the Edit menu. Click "Add Audio Track". After that, another track will turn on. When the track is ready, process it with effects and save it in the "File" - "Save As" menu.
