Step 1
Find out the level of preparation of the student who came. Check if he knows the musical notation, what designations in the letter are already familiar to him. It is best to check this on the usual C major scale, written in notes of different lengths with a correctly formed note line (mark its end / beginning, set the key and time signature). Be prepared for the first time young children see the “badges” you have presented. In this case, the first lesson should be devoted to the story of the staff, notes and various symbols.
Step 2
Be sure to show the notes on the piano keys right away. Thus, the student will form a visual connection, and memorization will take place at a higher quality level. Immediately secure the correct fit behind the tool. Pay attention to how your legs should be positioned, how to hold your back, how the piano keyboard is divided into right and left hands.
Step 3
The beginning of the training should be carried out on the scales. They also go to the setting of the hand of the performer. Pay special attention to this point. The hand should not lie flat on the keys, it should be relaxed and collected at the same time, touching the keys should be light.
Step 4
Use a variety of exercises to practice correct hand positioning. For example, "Throwing a handkerchief". A handkerchief is taken in the right hand and the student easily releases it to the floor, memorizing the position of the palm when the handkerchief is released from the fingers. The left hand does the same. When the "blowout" occurs, place the student's palm on the keys, showing him its working state.
Step 5
When learning to play the piano, pay special attention to using the “correct” fingers. Of course, a lot also depends on the physiological structure of the student, therefore, in the future, when performing more complex pieces, help him choose the setting of his hand. But the scales are played using "standard" fingers, fixed by centuries of tradition. Be sure to show this to the student, explaining that playing with "one finger", he will not achieve great success in learning to play the piano.
Step 6
Be sure to do your homework from the very first lesson. At first, it can be a simple repetition and consolidation of the material covered. But move quickly enough so that the student is eager to learn something new himself. Provide him with works for the initial stage, which he himself can disassemble and learn to perform. Each time, check the homework at the very beginning of the lesson (after the obligatory warm-up of the hands), correct mistakes and praise the student for the work done. Proceed to more complex compositions depending on the pace and success of learning to play the piano.
