A miniature rose is a wonderful decoration for a windowsill. But sometimes her whims are baffled. One "beautiful" morning, instead of a green plant, you can see bare stems. But this does not always mean the inevitable death of the plant, most often the rose can be helped.
1. Changing lighting
If you move a room rose from the southern window sill to another, less lit one, or bring it from the street into an apartment, it can shed its leaves. This does not pose a danger to the flower. Within 2 weeks, an intensive build-up of green mass will begin. After a month, the foliage will grow back in the same volume. It is worth increasing the feeding, by about half. If you applied 10 ml of fertilizer, apply 15. The frequency of fertilization remains the same. It is better to cut the buds.
The natural decrease in lighting in autumn also causes leaf fall, as a rule, insignificant, no more than 3 per week. Artificial lighting can help, but it is better to leave the rose alone until spring.
2. Drying the earthen coma
Long breaks in watering also contribute to the loss of leaves. If the trunk remains bright green, after the resumption of moisture, the flower will quickly recover. If the stems are dry, the plant can no longer be helped.
3. Infectious diseases
In this case, the rose sheds its leaves rather slowly, simultaneously with this process, the color of the trunks changes, it turns brown. The disease is caused by bacteria, viruses and fungi. While a fungal infection can be treated with fungicides, there is no other cure.
4. Damage to leaves by sucking insects
Most often, the rose is attacked by very small insects - mites. They come in different types and can only be viewed under a microscope. In some cases, you can see thin cobwebs on the discarded leaves - the result of the vital activity of a spider mite.
Various insecticides are used against insects, for example, "Aktara". If the rose is in a living area, you should be careful, drugs can be dangerous to health. Unfortunately, the use of milder, natural products is ineffective.
5. Lack of nutrients
If the rose has not been fed for a long time, the supply of nutrients in the soil could be depleted. The situation can be easily corrected by applying fertilizers. Fertilizers created specifically for a room rose are recommended, as a last resort, fertilizers for flowering plants are suitable.
