Bright colors are nice, of course, but everything has its place. In some cases, black and white image looks much better than color, giving the design a sense of rigor and simplicity. Moreover, transferring the image to black and white mode in Photoshop does not take much time.
It is necessary
- - Photoshop program;
- - a file with an image.
Instructions
Step 1
Open the picture you are going to convert to black and white in Photoshop. To do this, right-click on the image file in the explorer window. Select the "Open With" option from the context menu. Select Photoshop from the list of programs offering to open the file.
Step 2
Convert the picture to black and white mode. This can be done through the Image menu. From this menu, select the Mode group and then the Grayscale option. A visually similar result can be obtained by using the Desaturate command from the Adjustment group of the Image menu. But in this case, the black and white picture will remain in RGB mode, which will allow you, if necessary, to superimpose color layers on it.
Step 3
Adjust the brightness and contrast of the image. This can be done using the Brightness / Contrast command from the Adjustment group of the Image menu. In the window that opens, adjust both parameters by dragging the sliders. The result of changing the settings will be immediately visible on the image. When you achieve acceptable results, click OK.
Step 4
Save the black and white picture in.
In the window that opens, select the JPEG file type from the drop-down list, enter the name of the file to be saved and click the "Save" button. In the opened JPEG compression settings window, select the file compression level. This can be done by dragging the slider or by choosing one of the four quality types from the drop-down list. Keep in mind the fact that with very strong compression you will get a small file size and low quality. Click on the OK button. The black and white picture is saved.
