If a couple of decades ago it was quite difficult to make an amateur color photography, now everything has changed, and, as a rule, photographs are taken only in color. But in order to "remove" colors from an already finished image, making the photo in black and white, you need to try, but quite a bit.
It is necessary
- - a computer;
- - Microsoft Office.
Instructions
Step 1
Do not think that only a bulky and unwieldy Photoshop on low-power computers can cope with your task. There are a lot of more accessible and simple programs that are capable of performing this operation no worse than the famous and "almighty" Photoshop. One of them is installed by default with Microsoft Office and is perfect for your purposes. The convenience is that you don't need to download and install anything - if you have Word and Excel on your computer, in most cases there will be Microsoft Office Picture Manager. This is the program you need.
Step 2
You can find the icon for launching the program in the Start menu or start editing photos in this program in another way. To do this, right-click on the file with the image that you want to turn into black and white. In the context menu, select the command "Open with …" and click the line Microsoft Office Picture Manager. The program will start and the snapshot will be added to it. You can proceed to work on color.
Step 3
Find the "Change Pictures" button in the program bar and click it. In the right pane of the window, click the "Color" button. You will see three scales, by dragging the sliders along which you can adjust parameters such as color intensity, hue and saturation. All you need to do to turn a photo into black and white is to move the slider on the Saturation scale to the left to the very end. The photo will immediately turn black and white!
Step 4
It remains only to press the button with the floppy disk icon to save the changes. However, if you want to save the original color photo file, select the “Save As” command from the “File” menu, and then save the resulting black-and-white photo under a new name in any folder on your computer.
