You can also decorate a bottle of cognac or wine with twine, intended for a gift. This will immediately make your gift original and memorable. To decorate with twine, start bottles of simpler shapes. Once you have experience, you can move on to more complex products.
You will need a few meters of twine, glue, and a bottle. And you will also need various decorative elements for decoration. When starting to work, first of all remove the labels from the bottle. To do this, put it in hot water for a while and then easily remove them. Although the labels do not need to be removed.
Degrease the item to be decorated with alcohol. If there is no alcohol, it can be washed with any detergent. Then apply glue to the base of the bottle and glue the end of the twine with glue-moment. Spread PVA glue with a brush over the entire surface of the bottle and start wrapping twine around the bottle. Do this carefully, laying the thread in a circle. Try not to have gaps between the threads, between which the bottle will be visible.
Once you've finished wrapping the bottle, you can decorate the bottom. To do this, cut a circle to fit the bottom of the bottle. Glue twine on it in a circle and glue it to the bottle. If the bottle has a flat bottom, the twine can be glued directly to the bottom of the bottle. If you are not satisfied with the lid, you can paint it with acrylic paint or also wrap it with thin twine.
How to add decorative elements
After you have decorated the bottle with twine, think about its decor. The twine itself is gray and nondescript, but good for its texture. Perfect for decorating country or eco-style items. Therefore, the product will only benefit from additional decor. These can be coffee beans, shells, artificial flowers, textile flowers and bows made from the twine itself. If you do not have twine, knitting threads, silk ribbons, raffia can replace it.
To decorate the twine, you can use burlap or linen. Cut off a small piece of burlap. Stick it around the bottle with twine. Twist a rose from a satin ribbon. Stick the leaves on the burlap first, and then the rose. Tie the neck of the bottle with raffia and twine. Places free from twine can be painted with acrylic paint and covered with acrylic varnish. This must be done before you start decorating the bottle with twine.
