Instructions
Step 1
Amazing kinusaiga technique. Do not be intimidated by this foreign word, in the Russian interpretation it means a patchwork without a needle. That is, beautiful panels, pictures are created from pieces of fabric, but using a seamless technology. Traditionally, the basis of kinusaigi work is wood. A sketch drawn on paper is transferred to such a surface. With the help of a narrow thin knife, recesses are made on the wooden surface, into which the edges of the silk shreds are tucked.
Step 2
Japanese Maeno Takashi came up with such an interesting work in 1987. This is a great way to get rid of your old kimono. Russian housewives can take note of this idea. Many have scraps of fabric, things that no one wears anymore, but it's a pity to throw it away. From the repair, a foam panel could remain, which will also fit the case.
Step 3
Prepare everything you need and start creating. Transfer or print the drawing you like on a sheet of paper, attach it to the flat surface of the foam panel, placing carbon paper between these two layers. Sweep the back of your paintbrush or a wooden stick over the outline of the art to transfer the design to the styrofoam.
Step 4
Cut through the parts marked with carbon paper on the foam to a depth of 3 mm. Lubricate the first piece with glue, place a piece of fabric of the appropriate color on it, tuck the edges of the fabric into the slot using a nail file or other similar tool.
Step 5
Thus, complete the whole picture using the kinusaiga technique. Cut out rectangular ribbons from the fabric, fill in their slots, which you need to create around the perimeter of the panel, slightly stepping back from the edge. Secure this fabric edging with flat metal pushpins. This is the wonderful picture the kinusaiga technique helped create.
Step 6
You can do not only flat but also voluminous work. Make a balloon for the New Year with your own hands. For it, you need a round shaped foam blank. Draw straight lines on the ball, as if highlighting the slices on it. Place the first flap of a suitable shape on a blank pre-lubricated with PVA, hide its edges with a manicure file.
Step 7
If everything suits you, cut off the excess, tuck the edges of the shred into the same slot. You can do without glue, but it is good to stretch the fabric so that it lies neatly. Decorate the entire balloon in the same way. In place of the seams, glue a thin decorative tape, make a loop at the top to hang the toy on the Christmas tree.
Step 8
Facing is also a relatively new type of needlework. To create a beautiful snowman using this technique, cut squares with a side of 1 cm from corrugated paper, place the blunt end of a pencil in the center of the first. Holding it with one hand, twist the paper with the other hand to make a trimming tube.
Step 9
Have the child roll two balls out of plasticine. Without removing the paper blank from the pencil, lean it against the first circle, press to fix the facing in plasticine. Place these elements closer together. Decorate the entire snowman with them.
Step 10
Twist the filaments out of black paper to make hands out of them, and attach these parts in place with glue. Make a cap out of red cardboard, make a pompom for it using corrugated paper trimming, glue it to the top of the headdress.
Step 11
Flocking also involves the use of inexpensive or waste material. Transfer the drawing you like onto a piece of cardboard. Cut pieces of thread of different colors into separate containers. Lubricating small fragments with glue, lay the scraps on them, fixing these elements with a brush.
Step 12
Wool is another fertile material. Wool paintings are warm and cozy. Glue or weld strands of this material onto the fabric base with a needle. You can cut small pieces of wool to create falling snow on the canvas, for example.
Step 13
Thread and nail paintings are another type of modern needlework. Even those who think they draw poorly will be able to work in this technique. Use plywood or other wooden surface as a base. Place nails here that follow the outline of the drawing. Pass the thread between them in a chaotic or planned manner. Thus, you can "draw" pictures, "write" letters to spread the words of greeting or congratulations for everyone to see.
