Crafts made from seeds can be a fun activity for children and adults. For kids, working with such fine material will be an excellent exercise that develops fine motor skills. Making panels and paintings develops imagination, teaches how to combine colors and shapes.
Floral motifs or crafts for the little ones
The simplest handicraft made from pumpkin and sunflower seeds is a flower. If you want your composition to be flat, use pumpkin seeds. In addition, the light color allows them to be dyed with different colors, which is not the case with sunflower seeds. The middle of the flower will be a small ball of plasticine, which at the end of the work can be covered with a rowan berry.
A volumetric flower can be obtained by placing the seeds in several tiers. To make it shiny, finish with a colorless varnish.
If flat crafts on cardboard are not interesting for your kid, invite him to create a bouquet that can be placed in a miniature vase. To do this, you need to prepare a green straw, which will act as a stem.
Glue two dry leaves to the tube. A reliable assistant will be double-sided thin tape or glue moment. Fix the seeds on a plasticine ball so that the flowers look attractive from any side. The surface can be painted with thick gouache or acrylic paints and varnished to prolong the life of the craft.
Useful Creativity - Photo Frame
For the frame, you will need whole seeds, and their husks. Cut out two identical parts of the frame 15x20 cm in size from thick cardboard. When choosing the size of the inner window, be guided by the size of the photo. Paint one side of the frame with the selected color and let the paint dry. Then cover the surface with a layer of PVA glue and glue the husks of the seeds.
Use a wide brush to paint the husk with acrylics or gouache. Preference should be given to different shades of the same color. Draw a small amount of paint in a contrasting color into a syringe and apply a pattern.
Use tape to secure the photo from the back side, and cover the unsightly seamy part with a second frame. Make a stand to keep the frame firmly on a table or shelf. To do this, cut out a square with a beveled side out of durable cardboard (it is better to use the box material). Firmly fix the “leg” on the back of the frame with adhesive tape.
Another option for the frame is a mosaic of seeds and cereals. Apply glue or a thin layer of plasticine to the prepared cardboard base. Lay out the chosen ornament, pressing the elements tightly. If there is too much free space among the large parts, fill it with semolina. After drying, cover the craft with varnish or spray paint.
